Sound is beautiful, i tried on JBL R102, JBL ES100, KEF Q300, KEF Q 350 and amp with 2x7.6W just fills up the room (60m2) with warmth of sound. I tried three different sets of output tubes (300B, 300B-98B, 300B-G) also rectifier tubes (5Z3PA T, 5Z3P J) and voltage amp tubes (6N8P J, 6SN7C) every combination sounds excellent, no background noise even when cranked up to max (for short period), auto bias works perfectly. Paid for shipping and tax more than amp but no regrets, excellent communication with Mr. Lee. Whoever made this amp... hat down to you, tube amp for the People :)

very good quality amp and for the price its remarkable .sound is smooth and balanced ,if your thinking of buying a tube amp this is a very good one .yong lee is very helpful and trustworthy and I have just put in another order with him .

Just an update on my earlier review, I have been informed the amplifier is NOT auto biasing, you have to bias by going inside the case Sorry for any confusion I've been using the amp every day since I got it, it really is a lovely sounding amp as previously stated and I am still very happy with my purchase Ok I might deduct the + on the 5 stars I mentioned, for not having auto biasing, but it is still a great amplifier

Short answer: Unbelievable value, incredible sonic qualities, order to delivery too 8 days, immaculate packaging. Long Answer: I've been an audiophile for over 30 years and this is the single best piece of electronic gear I've ever purchased. From aesthetic to its musicality to its solid no BS noise, hum, poping... Its nearly as silent as mu Purifi D-Class amp (not kidding). I've been rolling tubes and playing it for a week now and it just continues to open up as the electronics break in. Build quality: Hard to find any fit and finish flaws. Most tube amps to me look like bad Frankenstein experiments, not in good way. This R8 is classy, modern and retro, poses with quality, everything is "tight." I have the silver and black, OMG what a beauty, in person, the black parts on the amp are painted w light fleck in the finish that make the amp pop. Personally, I like the loom best w the cage on. SOUND:This is my first tube amplifier and I'm running the pre-amp in put. Works flawlessly, clean noise-free sound. The difference between rural linear and triode is night and day. Fun to switch in real time, even adjust per track. Alison Krauss in ultralinear and Nora Jones in triode--sounds lovely. Hugh dynamics. extended highs, controlled lows, clan noise/grain free voices. Service: As good as it gets. The unit was delivered without a hitch, I did not have to pay any import taxes and was messaged every step of the way. This amp arrived 11 days after posting and came very well packed. It is near enough plug and play, the tubes came fitted and no biasing was needed. It does not mention on the sale advert that the amp has auto biasing. My speakers are 87db sensitive, and it drives them with ease, the 35w per channel would seem a little under rated. I've only had the amp for 3 days but it sounded great right from the off. It has a lovely room filling sound, bass is tight and low, mids and highs sound very natural. It is well built with quality connectors, looks great in black, and I can highly recommend this product. 5 stars +

Who what a sound!! Beautiful low, mid and high.

I've owned it for a little over 2 months now and i'm absolutely in love with this Amp. I was looking for a Tube amp that would not only power my bookshelf speakers, but also has a headphone input. This was the perfect solution to what i needed and sounds absolutely incredible. It has a wonderful tone to it but without being too loose. It has the perfect mix of detail and warmth to the sound. I'm sure if you tube rolled, you can get the sound even more buttery. My only bit of initial concern was the 13W of power. But Let me tell you... this amp has enough power to drive my speakers well passed ear piercing volume. I ended-up hooking this up to my reference system and it handled it with flying colors. I tend to listen to a good amount of rock/heavy metal, so volume is definitely part of my equation. This thing again handled it with flying colors. Although some of the $700-900 Tube amps are getting a lot of attention now days, i would strongly recommend this as a most cost conscious option but without any clear sacrifices in sound or options. This is an absolutely insane value for a SET Tube amp and I hope more people strongly consider it.

Very well packed item, arrived in top condition. The unit is well crafted and the sound is gorgeous. Powerful enough for near field monitoring. Great buy. Just a misunderstanding about open box item availability, that bare not always available.

It is hard to explain how amazing these little speakers are. Sound Artist has out-rogered rogers, out-kefed kef, out falconed falcon. At this price, these speakers cannot be beat. They are way more than I expected. The sound is superb and the build quality is the biggest surprise of all. These are absolute gems! A real testament to the design expertise and the amazing skills of the Chinese workforce. Outstanding - the audio deal of the century. Eat your heart our US - you'll never achieve this.
